Longevity and Experience

Wee Care Preschool was established in 1985!  For over 35 years we have provided quality early childhood education and childcare to families in the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.  We have been fortunate enough to have most families come to us by word of mouth!

After over 35 years in our historic Pine Grove location, Wee Care now has a second school located on Broadway and Grace.  Adjoining the fabulous Gill Park Playground as well as Field House, we are thrilled to become part of this amazing community!

Unlike many preschools and child care centers in Lakeview and Lincoln Park, Wee Care is not posted on a busy city street corner with heavy foot traffic and highly visible to unwanted visitors.  We are tucked away on a tree lined side street in a vintage building with minimal signage.  And yet, we are conveniently located on the border of Lakeview and Lincoln Park.  There is a good chance you've walked past us and not even realized we are a preschool until you had a child of your own!

 

Low Turn over (teachers and children)

Our school has been fortunate enough over the decades to boast very low staff turn over.  We have had several teachers who have remained at Wee Care for more than 10 and 20 years! It is very common of our teachers to care for the younger sibling of an older Wee Care graduate.  Our teachers get to know each student individually and in the context of their family as a whole.  Our families feel happy seeing familiar faces and knowing they can rely on a consistent caregiver in their child's life.

Additionally, most of our children remain at Wee Care Preschool from 3 months to 5 years (when they move on to kindergarten) and return for school breaks.  We love to frequently welcome younger siblings of Wee Care graduates!  A stunning example, is a current Wee Care Family whose four children all attended preschool with us - current ages are now 27, 16, 12 and 5 years!

Additionally, Wee Care is now just beginning to welcome our second generation students!  

 

Sensible Pricing

What are you paying for??  At Wee Care we believe you shouldn't have unnecessary charges.  We do not collect application fees, reservation fees, supplies fees, etc.  We do not require families to sign contracts.  We want our families to be happy and stay with us for the right reasons. 

 

 

Minimal Vacation

At Wee Care we only close for major U.S. holidays; New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (and possibly day before or after depending on when it falls), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (day after Thanksgiving) and Christmas Eve and Day.  We also do not close for excessive cold or snow - we do not follow CPS closings.  We believe families should be able to rely on us and not worry about "back-up" childcare for extended breaks.

 

What's Included

Wee Care tuition prices include three snacks as well as a fully catered nutritious hot lunch, diapers, wipes, potty training, and all classroom supplies.
